Press release
LuNa Smelter Ltd. (LuNa) is conformant with the Responsible Minerals Initiative (RMI)Responsible Minerals Assurance Process (RMAP) and strictly implements OECD Due Diligence Guidance for Responsible Supply Chains of Minerals from Conflict-Affected and High-Risk Areas (DDG).

LuNa cooperates regularly and constructively with the RMI and fully supports their mission. LuNa strongly encourages other companies or industry associations willing to provide 3rd party upstream assurance mechanism, to undergo the RMAP recognition process to demonstrate OECD Due Diligence Guidance alignment and to be able to provide a verifiable assurance service to smelters, exporters, and other stakeholders in the 3T supply chain.
While LuNa uses various RMI accredited upstream assurance mechanisms to assist with its due diligence in the Great Lakes Region, the Company has an experienced traceability team on the ground and runs independent due diligence processes required in the RMAP standard for sourcing from conflict-affected or high-risk areas (CAHRAs).
Further, LuNa has recently been awarded its license for providing due diligence services from the Rwanda Mining, Petroleum, and Gas Board and has implemented a blockchain-based management tool (Minespider) for the documentation of its Chain-of-Custody and due diligence activities, to provide the necessary transparency and disclosure of its sourcing and production processes.
