Awards for exceptional students
During a prize-giving ceremony on March 28, 2024, organized by the Gatsibo district, the Mining and Exploration Department of LuNa Smelter, led by Trevor Faber, President of the Supervisory Board, and Duduzani Mgezelwa (Pr.Sci.Nat.) MAusIMM, Mining Operations Manager, awarded brand new laptops to two exceptional students, Ukwishaka Dorcas and Uwamahoro Divine, from Groupe Scolaire Gishya in the Kiziguro sector, Gatsibo District.
Memorandum of Understanding on Critical Raw Materials between the European Union and Rwanda
Luna Smelter, as the sole tin producer in Rwanda and one of the biggest European investor in the region, is delighted to express our satisfaction with the recent signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Critical Raw Materials (CRM) between the European Union (EU) and Rwanda
Mark Robinson, Executive Director of the EITI, and Cecile Billaux, Head of Unit Trade, visited LuNa Smelter.
Together with LuNa’s representatives, they discussed the matters of traceability systems, cooperation on the Critical Raw Materials, and challenges in securing funds related to the CRM value chain improvement.
Children’s Day
On 25th November, celebrating the Children’s Day in Rwanda, LuNa Smelter invited employees’ children to enjoy refreshments and a tour of their parents’ workplace.
